The basic plan, for those who are not familiar with the fireworks fund –

North Commerce Fireworks committee is soliciting donations from subdivisions, businesses and homeowners that border Commerce Lake.  All money raised will ONLY be spent on fireworks and the actual costs to raise the funds needed (postage, paper, envelopes & signs). GEN-X Fireworks Company will be responsible for insurance, permits, the launch two barges (30' x 10') and the fireworks display. We will be shooting off fireworks as large as six inch mortars!  This will be a festive and safe show for all the residents that live on and around Commerce Lake.  The fireworks display will be on at dusk and will last approximately 30 minutes.

The fireworks have been held on the 4th of July the last four years. Unfortunately our fireworks vendor raised the cost to $20,000.00 ($24,000.00 with fund raising cost) to have the fireworks on the 4th this year. The board (all three of us) felt this was way to costly and opted to take the less expensive weekend prior.
